William Robert "Bill" Smith

William Robert "Bill" Smith age 83 of Lakeview Dr., Springfield, died at 10:15 pm Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Norton Women's and Children's Hospital in Louisville.

Born May 13, 1941 in Marion County, he was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard Dominic and Nancy America Peavy Smith, his wife, Emily Marie Carrico Smith, July 25, 2013, a brother, Jimmy Smith and a sister, Shirley Mann.

He was the Shop Foreman at Newcomb Oil Co. in Bardstown for several years and was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church.

He is survived by a son, Tim (Renee) Smith of Springfield, a daughter, Sherry (Dale) Bartley of Springfield, two brothers, Lonnie (Ann) Smith and Donnie Smith all of Lebanon, two sisters, Carolyn Smith Dean of Springfield and Sandy Smith of Bardstown, 5 grandchildren, Blake (Amelia) Smith, Taylor (Haylee Graves) Smith, Tyler Smith, Matthew (MacKenzie) Bartley and Thomas (Teresa Fenwick) Bartley, two great grandchildren, Lilah Smith and Liam Bartley.

Funeral mass for William Robert "Bill" Smith will be conducted at 10:00 am Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Rev. Trumie Culpepper Elliott and Rev. David Farrell officiating.  Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Blake, Taylor and Tyler Smith, Matthew and Thomas Bartley and Gerald Hamilton.

Honorary pallbearers will be Steve and Gery Fenwick.

A prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm Monday at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home where friends may call from 4:00 till 8:00 pm Monday and again from 7:00 am till 9:30 am Tuesday morning.
