Thomas Xavier "Tommy" Kidwell age 86, of Cane Run Rd., Fredericktown, died at 11:10 am Friday, April 12, 2024 at Heritage Hall Care Center in Lawrenceburg.
Born as an only child, July 3, 1937 in Louisville, KY, he was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Xavier, and Lucille Wimsatt Kidwell and two brother-in-law's, Roy Durr and Charlie Ritchey.
Tommy worked for Armour Food Co., in Springfield for many years as a bulk milker unloader, He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fredericktown where he served mass for several years, was a 36-year member of Council 4270 Knights of Columbus where he held several offices and was a 4th degree member of Knights of Columbus Monsignor McGee Assembly. Tommy had a servant's heart and he loved his flowers, gardening, and his family.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Blondella Durr Kidwell of Sansbury Care Center at St. Catharine, three sons, Michael (Cindy) Kidwell and Allen Kidwell all of Fredericktown and Charlie Kidwell of Leesville, Louisiana, one daughter, Lynn (Jerry) Smith of Springfield, one brother-in-law, Bobby (Linda) Durr of Lawrenceburg, two sister-in-law's, Rozella (Rosie) Ritchey and Betty Durr both of Lawrenceburg, five special cousins, Sue Kidwell Clements, Belle Sutton, Dickie Kidwell, Joe and Aggie Wimsatt. Eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral mass for Thomas Xavier "Tommy" Kidwell will be conducted at 10:30 am Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fredericktown with Rev. Michael Martin and Deacon Joe Dant officiating. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Fredericktown.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Spalding, Chris and Dickie Kidwell, Billy Abell, John Reynolds, and William Clements.
Honorary pallbearers will be Candie and Cassie Yates, Nikki McIntosh, Meagan Clements, Tiffiny, and Corey Kidwell.
A prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm Monday, April 15 with honors by Monsignor McGee Assembly Knights of Columbus.
Visitation will be from 4:00 till 8:00 pm Monday and again from 7:00 am till 9:45 am Tuesday morning at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home.
