Dominican Sister of Peace Thomas Ann Ford, OP (97), a native of Louisville, Kentucky, died on January 16, 2022 at Sansbury Care Center, St. Catharine, Kentucky. Sr. Thomas Ann is survived by a sister-in-law, Mary Lloyd Ford and several nieces and nephews.
A Dominican for 64 years, Sr. Thomas Ann earned a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education/Business/Accounting from Memphis State College (Memphis, TN). She ministered as a teacher at St. Michael (Orland Park, IL); St. Agnes Academy (Memphis, TN); and Central Catholic High (Grand Island, NE). Sr. Thomas Ann was also bursar at St. Agnes Academy (Memphis, TN). In 1973, she was Program Director at St. Catharine Motherhouse (St. Catharine, KY). From 1974-1998, Sister served as Bursar/Driver/Director of Finance at Sansbury Care Center, St. Catharine, KY. In 1999, Sister moved to Louisville, KY to provide care for her sister. She remained there until the death of her sister in 2006 at which time she returned to St. Catharine Motherhouse where she provided community service.
In 2009, Sr. Thomas Ann moved to Sansbury Care Center (St. Catharine, KY), where she began a ministry of prayer and presence.
Arrangements are handled by Hale–Polin–Robinson Funeral Home in Springfield, Kentucky. The visitation begins at 3pm, Thursday, January 20, at the Sansbury Care Center Chapel. The funeral will be held at 10:30am, Friday, January 21, at Sansbury Care Center Chapel. Burial will be in the St. Catharine Motherhouse cemetery. The services for Sr. Thomas Ann will be for the Dominican Sisters of Peace and family members only.
