Sr. Patricius Henderson, OP

Dominican Sister of Peace Patricius Henderson, OP (103), a native of Omaha, Nebraska, died on November 23, 2025, at Sansbury Care Center, St. Catharine, Kentucky.   Sr. Patricius is survived by several nieces and nephews. 

A Dominican for 82 years, Sr. Patricius earned certification as an X-Ray technician from St. Rose School of X-Ray Technology (Great Bend, KS).  She ministered as a teacher at St. Augustine (Jeffersonville, IN).  Sister later was a nurse aide at St. Catherine Hospital (McCook, NE) then went on to become an X-Ray technician at St. Catherine Hospital (McCook, NE); Mary Immaculate Hospital (Lebanon, KY) and Jackson Park Hospital (Chicago, IL).  In 1987, Sr. Patricius provided community service and prayer at St. Catherine Convent (McCook, NE) and St. Mary Convent (Omaha, NE).  In 1998, Sister moved to St. Catharine Motherhouse (St. Catharine, KY) where she continued to provide community service and prayer.  In 2001, she returned to Spalding, NE, to offer community service and prayer.

In 2008, Sr. Patricius returned to St. Catharine Motherhouse and stayed until her recent move to Sansbury Care Center (St. Catharine, KY) in 2022 where she began a ministry of prayer and presence.

Arrangements are handled by Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home in Springfield, Kentucky.  Sister chose cremation.  The cremains visitation begins at 3pm, Wednesday, December 3, at the Sansbury Care Center Chapel. The funeral will be held at 10:30am, Thursday, December 4, at Sansbury Care Center Chapel.  Burial will be in the St. Catharine Motherhouse cemetery.
