Dominican Sister of Peace Monica Myers, OP (98), a native of Estherwood, Louisiana, died on February 13, 2026, at Sansbury Care Center, St. Catharine, Kentucky. Sr. Monica is survived by a brother Phil Myers (Jennings, LA) and a sister Marjorie Broussard (Lake Arthur, LA). Sr. Monica was a former member of the Eucharistic Missionaries of St. Dominic, New Orleans, LA. She happily transitioned with sisters from both religious congregations when they became the Dominican Sisters of Peace in 2009.
A Dominican for 76 years, Sr. Monica earned certification in religious education and certification in Reiki and Foot Reflexology. She ministered as a seamstress and in religious education in many locations throughout Louisiana. She later continued her ministry in Louisiana providing Reflexology and Reiki.
In 2012, Sr. Monica moved to Sansbury Care Center (St. Catharine, KY), where she began a ministry of prayer and presence.
Arrangements are handled by Hale–Polin–Robinson Funeral Home in Springfield, Kentucky. Sister chose cremation. The visitation and sharing of memories begin at 3pm, Wednesday, February 25, at the Sansbury Care Center Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am, Thursday, February 26, at Sansbury Care Center Chapel. A Memorial Mass will take place in Jennings, Louisiana with burial in Estherwood Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
