Sr. Michael Brigid Driscoll, OP

Dominican Sister of Peace Michael Brigid Driscoll, OP (87), a native of Somerville, Massachusetts, died on June 2, 2021, at Sansbury Care Center, St. Catharine, Kentucky.  Sr. Michael Brigid is survived by one sister Margaret (Peggy) Riley as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Dominican for 67 years, Sr. Michael Brigid earned a Bachelor of Science in English/Education from Siena College (Memphis, TN).  She ministered as a teacher at St. James (McMechen, WV); Holy Rosary (Springfield, KY); St. Augustine (Reed, KY); SS Peter and Paul (Hopkinsville, KY); St. John (Memphis, TN); St. John (Lima, OH); St. Dominic/St. Agnes (Memphis, TN); Our Lady of Lourdes (Jamaica Plain, MA) and St. Patrick School (Stoneham, MA).  She went on to ministry as principal at St. Mel Day School (Gloucester, MA).  In 1999, she was plant manager at Rosary Manor in Watertown, MA.

In 2017, Sr. Michael Brigid moved to Sansbury Care Center (St. Catharine, KY), where she began a ministry of prayer and presence.

Arrangements are handled by Hale–Polin–Robinson Funeral Home in Springfield, Kentucky.  Visitation and funeral services at Sansbury Care Center Chapel will be held on June 14 and 15.  Due to Covid guidelines for Long Term Care Facilities, the services will be for the Dominican Sisters of Peace and family members only.  Burial will be in the St. Catharine Motherhouse cemetery.
