Sr. M. Pauletta Kelly, OP

Dominican Sister of Peace M. Pauletta Kelly, OP (97), a native of Greeley, Nebraska, died on November 1, 2019, at Sansbury Care Center, St. Catharine, Kentucky.  Sr. Pauletta is survived by one sister, Patricia Kittridge and several nieces and nephews.

A Dominican for 74 years, Sr. Pauletta earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education/English from Siena College (Memphis, TN) and a Masters of Art in Education/English from Spalding College (Louisville, KY).  She ministered as a teacher at Holy Rosary (Briartown/Springfield, KY); St. James (McMechen, WV); St. Anthony (Cedar Rapids, NE); St. Cecilia (Hastings, NE); Pius X (Lincoln, NE); Blessed Sacrament (Grand Island, NE); St. Stephen Martyr (Louisville, KY) and Kearney Catholic High (Kearney, NE).  She was a principal/teacher at St. Patrick (McCook, NE) and a teacher/administrator at St. Philip Neri (Omaha, NE) and St. Bartholomew (Chicago, IL). Sr. Pauletta worked in Medical Records at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln, NE and was the Director of Staff Development at Mary Immaculate Hospital in Lebanon, KY.  In 1978, Sister worked in Medical Records and as a secretary at Sansbury Care Center, St. Catharine, KY.  Sr. Pauletta was also a librarian at Spalding Academy in Spalding, NE.  In 1991, she volunteered at a retired senior program in Grand Island, NE until her move in 2002 to St. Catharine Motherhouse, St. Catharine, KY where she provided community service.

In 2012, Sr. Pauletta moved to Sansbury Care Center (St. Catharine, KY), where she began a ministry of prayer and presence.

Arrangements are handled by Hale–Polin–Robinson Funeral Home in Springfield, Kentucky. The visitation begins at 3pm, Wednesday, November 6, at the Sansbury Care Center Chapel.  The funeral will be held at 10:30am, Thursday, November 7, at Sansbury Care Center Chapel.  Burial will be in the St. Catharine Motherhouse cemetery.
