Sr. Eleanor Fabrizi, OP

Dominican Sister of Peace Eleanor Fabrizi, OP (91), a native of Arlington, Massachusetts, died on July 5, 2023, at Sansbury Care Center, St. Catharine, Kentucky.  Sr. Eleanor is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A Dominican for 70 years, Sr. Eleanor earned a Bachelor of Arts in English/Social Studies from Siena College (Memphis, TN) and a Master of Arts in Supervisory/Administration from Lowell State University (Lowell, MA).  She ministered as a teacher at Our Lady of Lourdes (Queens Village, NY); St. Francis deSales (Charlestown, MA); St. Mel Day School (Gloucester, MA) and St. Angela School (Mattapan, MA) where she also initiated an ESL Program for new Haitian immigrants.  Sister was principal at St. Michael (Lowell, MA); Community Center for Christian Education (East Boston, MA); Immaculate Conception (Cambridge, MA) and Rosary Academy (Watertown, MA).  Sister Eleanor also served as librarian at Presentation School (Brighton, MA) and St. Jude Elementary School (Waltham, MA).  Sister went on to serve as Coordinator at Rosary Manor (Watertown, MA).  In 2017, Sister Eleanor moved to St. Catharine Motherhouse, St. Catharine, KY.  

In 2022, Sr. Eleanor moved to Sansbury Care Center (St. Catharine, KY), where she began a ministry of prayer and presence.

Arrangements are handled by Hale–Polin–Robinson Funeral Home in Springfield, Kentucky. The visitation begins at 3pm, Wednesday, July 12, at the Sansbury Care Center Chapel.  The funeral will be held at 10:30am, Thursday, July 13, at Sansbury Care Center Chapel.  Burial will be at the St. Catharine Motherhouse cemetery.
