Sr. Bernadine Egleston, OP Obituary

Dominican Sister of Peace Bernadine Marie Egleston, OP (83), a native of Waltham, Massachusetts, died on December 2, 2020, at Sansbury Care Center, St. Catharine, Kentucky.  Sr. Bernadine is survived by one brother William Egleston and several nieces.

A Dominican for 63 years, Sr. Bernadine earned a Bachelor of Arts in English/Art from Regis College (Weston, MA); a Bachelor of Arts in Sculpture from Providence College (Providence, RI); a Master of Arts in Art and a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from University of Dallas (Irving, TX).  She ministered as a teacher at SS Simon and Jude (Louisville, KY); Our Lady of Lourdes (Queens Village, NY); St. Mary (Williamstown, NJ); Dominican Academy (Plainville, MA); and North Cambridge Catholic (Cambridge, MA).  Sister was an artist/Assistant Dean of Residence at St. Catharine College (St. Catharine, KY).  Sr. Bernadine spent many years at Rosary Academy in Watertown, MA where she was an artist.  She was an artist/campus minister at Providence College (Providence, RI).  Sr. Bernadine also taught art at Rosary Learning Center (Watertown, MA).  While living at Rosary Manor (Watertown, MA), Sister continued to sculpt and create many beautiful pieces of art.

In 2015, Sr. Bernadine moved to Sansbury Care Center (St. Catharine, KY), where she began a ministry of prayer and presence.

Arrangements are handled by Hale–Polin–Robinson Funeral Home in Springfield, Kentucky. Due to the COVID19 pandemic restrictions, graveside services will be private.  Burial will be in the St. Catharine Motherhouse cemetery on Thursday, December 10, 2020.  A memorial mass will be held at a later date at Sansbury Care Center, St. Catharine, KY.  Date to be announced.
