Sr. Ann Dominic Roach, OP

Dominican Sister of Peace Ann Dominic Roach, OP (94), a native of Boston, Massachusetts, died on September 8, 2024, at Sansbury Care Center, St. Catharine, Kentucky.  She was born to James and Margaret Roach and is survived by one brother Richard J. Roach (Torrington, CT) and many loving nieces and nephews.

A Dominican for 74 years, Sr. Ann Dominic earned a Bachelor of Arts in English/Social Studies from Siena College (Memphis, TN); a Master of Science in Library Science from Spalding College (Louisville, KY) and a Master of Education in Supervision and Administration from Boston College (Chestnut Hill, MA).  She ministered as a teacher at St. Vincent Ferrer (Brooklyn, NY); St. Stephen Martyr (Louisville, KY) and Marian High School (Belmont, MA).  Sister was Librarian/Teacher at Pius X High School (Lincoln, NE) and N. Cambridge Catholic (Cambridge, MA), where she also served as Principal.  Sr. Ann Dominic was Education Coordinator at St. Agnes/St. Dominic School (Memphis, TN).  In 1979, Sister served as a member of the Catholic School Office staff and was later appointed Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Archdiocese of Boston, a position she held for thirteen years.  Sister was elected to serve on the leadership team of the former Dominican Sisters of St. Catharine, St. Catharine, KY from 1980-1984. In 2003, she was the Librarian for Gate of Heaven School (South Boston, MA) and in 2009 at South Boston Catholic Academy (South Boston, MA).   In 2021, Sr. Ann Dominic moved to St. Catharine Motherhouse, St. Catharine, KY where she provided community service. 

In 2024, Sr. Ann Dominic moved to Sansbury Care Center (St. Catharine, KY), where she began a ministry of prayer and presence.

Arrangements are handled by Hale–Polin–Robinson Funeral Home in Springfield, Kentucky. The visitation begins at 3pm, Wednesday, September 11, at the Sansbury Care Center Chapel.  The funeral will be held at 10:30am, Thursday, September 12, at Sansbury Care Center Chapel.  Burial will be at the St. Catharine Motherhouse cemetery.
