Shirley Ann Weakley Montgomery, 64, passed on at her home in Springfield, Kentucky on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018.
She was a 1972 graduate of Washington County High School and attended St. Catharine College. Shirley and her family lived in Owensboro, Lexington and then Louisville for over 30 years.
Shirley was preceded in death by her mother Pauline Weakley, her grandmother Mary and beloved grandfather Rufus Weakley.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Sammy Montgomery, a son, Sam Montgomery Jr. and wife Carrie. Shirley will be remembered dearly by her grandchildren, Madison and Jacob Montgomery and Mackenzie and Mattie Fabian.
Survivors also include a sister, Debbye Scott and husband Randy, a brother, Billy Ray Holderman Jr. and wife Bethany a brother-in-law Vince Montgomery and wife Debbie and mother-in-law Olivia Montgomery.
Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter-in-law and niece. She was the most selfless caregiver, thinking of and helping relatives in pain while ignoring her own. Shirley had a soft heart for all living things, especially her little dogs and cat she spoiled daily in later life. She enjoyed attending auctions and refused to pass up a yard sale. If an older couple were having a yard sale Shirley made sure she found something to buy. She loved flowers and took special interest in taking the weakest flower and bringing them along to their full glory.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home with Bro. Tobe Yankey officiating. Burial will be in St. Dominic-Holy Rosary Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 till 7:00 pm Friday and again Saturday morning until time of service at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home.
