Roger Allan Milburn age 74, of Mayes Ave., Springfield, died at 10:40 pm Monday, June 19, 2023 at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital in Harrodsburg.
Born July 17, 1948 in Lebanon, he was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Milburn, Oct. 24, 2015 and Dorothy Ann Milburn, Feb. 14, 2009, a daughter, Ann Thomas Milburn, August 30, 1983, a son-in-law, Scott Black, Nov. 11, 2022, two grandsons, Kemper Addison and Bailey Thomas Black and a nephew, Blake Hoppes, August 3, 2006.
He was a graduate of the Associate Degree program at St. Catharine College in 1981, was a member of American Legion Post 49 in Lebanon, was a 43-year veteran of KY Army National Guard and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 5, served in Operation Desert Storm in the Gulf War and served over 2 years on active duty. He was a member of Cornerstone Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Sally Osbourne Milburn, a son, Adam (Jenny) Milburn of Edwardsville, Illinois, a daughter, Stacey Black of Springfield, a sister, Ann Clayton (Terry) Colvin of Springfield, 3 grandchildren, Madelyn and Chase Milburn and Avery Black, a nephew, Kyle (Samantha) Hoppes of Springfield, a great niece, Tia Hoppes and a great nephew, Thomas Hoppes of Springfield.
Per his wishes, cremation was chosen. There will be no services but the public is invited to attend his committal service at Lebanon National Cemetery on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 11:00 am with military honors to be conducted by Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
