Robert Lee "Bob" Parrott Jr.

Robert Lee "Bob" Parrott Jr., age 71 of Bardstown Rd., Springfield, died at 4:32 pm Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Norton Pavilion Hosparus in Louisville.

Born March 17, 1952 in Lebanon, he was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Parrott, April 23, 2021 and Patricia Shewmaker Parrott, December 6, 2017.

He was a former employee of Mago Construction Co. in Bardstown for 27 years and Nally & Gibson in Springfield for 10 years.  He loved farming and he loved his cows as much as they love him, as they would come running when they heard his truck.  He was a 30 plus years member and a 2 year Trustee of Council 4270 Knights of Columbus in Springfield and a member of St. Rose Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Susan Keene Parrott, three daughters, Michelle (Travis) Oldham of Mt. Washington, Jessica (Kevin Devine) Smith of Springfield and Karen (Jeremy) Boblitt of Willisburg.  He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Connor Oldham (Kelly Schuschke), Cameron Oldham (Zoe Adams), Lucas, Nathan, Kendall and Cody Smith, Emilee Boblitt (Nathan Burkhead and Kinsley) and Sarah Boblitt, one brother, Frank Parrott of Lebanon, two sisters, Jean (Tommy) Butcher of Galax, Virginia and Sandy (Terry) Warner of Springfield and a special friend, Donnie O'Bryan of Springfield.

Funeral mass for Robert Lee "Bob" Parrott Jr. will be conducted at 10:00 am Thursday, December 14, 2023 at St. Rose Catholic Church with Edmund Ditton, O.P. officiating.  Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be his eight grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5:00 till 8:00 pm Wednesday and again from 7:00 am till 9:30 am Thursday morning at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home.
