Richard Patrick "Ricky" Mattingly Jr. age 70 of Haydon Ln., Springfield, died at 8:00 am Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at his residence.
He was born December 27, 1950 in Lebanon to the late Richard Patrick Mattingly Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Abell Mattingly. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Anthony Gerard Mattingly.
He was a tobacco grader for the U.S. Department of Agriculture for 22 years, was a farmer and a member of St. Rose Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Janet McDonald Mattingly, a son, Brian (Angela) Mattingly of Bardstown, a brother, Tim (Kris) Mattingly of Elizabethtown, four sisters, Donna (Pat) Mudd and Laurie (Terry) Smith all of Springfield, Elaine (Ken) Baker of Lexington and Alicia Mattingly of Louisville, four grandchildren, Jazdon, Matt and Maggie Gambrel and Kenzie Patterson.
Funeral mass for Richard Patrick "Ricky" Mattingly Jr. will be conducted at 10:00 am Saturday, September 25, 2021 at St. Rose Catholic Church with Rev. Edmund Ditton officiating. Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brian Mattingly, Tim Mattingly, John and Joey McDonald, Kevin Coulter and Lance Smith.
A prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm Friday at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home where friends may call from 4:00 till 8:00 pm Friday and again from 7:00 am till 9:15 am Saturday morning.
The family has requested that face masks be worn at the funeral home and the church service please.
