Mary Margie Kelty Smith age 97, of Smith Ln., Springfield, died at 9:00 pm Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown with her family by her side.
Born November 22, 1924 in Washington County, she was preceded in death by her parents, Colbert and Mary Regina Newton Kelty, her husband of 61 years, Robert W. Smith, April 10, 2010, a grandson, Curtis Lee Smith, January 25, 2003, a son-in-law, Larry Fenton, December 5, 2018, five brothers, Theodore, Bob, Howard, Thomas Miles and Wilburn Kelty and three sisters, Hazel Carrico, Lucille Spalding and Amy Spalding.
She was a homemaker and a loving farmer's wife and mother and had worked at Sansbury Infirmary at St. Catharine for 15 years. She was a faithful member of St. Rose Catholic Church.
She is survived by three sons, T.R. (Janice) Smith, Terry (Laurie) Smith and Douglas Smith all of Springfield, five daughters, Jan Fenton, Wanda (Steve) Smith, Pamela Curtis Smith (Kevin) Hill, Barbara (Steve) Thompson and Cynthia (Joey) Smith all of Springfield, 20 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Funeral mass for Mary Margie Kelty Smith will be conducted at 10:00 am Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at St. Rose Catholic Church with Rev. Kevin McGrath, O.P. officiating. Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robert Ryan Fenton, Wesley, Lance, Tony, Chris, Austin and Evan Smith, Stephen Thompson and In Memory of Curtis Lee Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren.
A prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm Monday at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home where friends may call from 4:00 till 8:00 pm and again from 7:00 am till 9:15 am Tuesday morning.
