Mary Brenna (Luckett) Smith

Mary Brenna Luckett Smith age 72 of Lebanon, formerly of Springfield, died at 11:30 am Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Kindred Hospital in Louisville.

Born March 3, 1952 in Lebanon, she was preceded in death by her parents, John Preston Luckett Sr., May 7, 2017 and Amy Cecilia Lee Luckett, December 24, 2017, a daughter, Carrie Lynn Evans, November 24, 1993 and a son, John Eric Evans, April 3, 2023.

She was a 1994 graduate of St. Catharine College with an Associate Degree in Applied Science, was a Registered Nurse having worked in Hospice care and had been a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline Evans of Springfield, five brothers, Wendell (Nancy) Luckett and John Preston Luckett Jr. all of Lebanon, Jimmy (Linda) Luckett of Bardstown and Joe David (Gayla) Luckett of Oakland, KY. and Mike Luckett of Springfield, eleven sisters, Betty (Bill) Lancaster of Somerville, Alabama, Lois (Michael) O'Keefe of Louisville, Sue (Frank) Reynolds of Raywick, Teresa (Lee) Brahm of Loretto, Caroline (Jodie) Smith, Marilyn (David) Spalding and Janice (Chip) Vize all of Springfield, Frances (Fred) Medley, Cindy (Ruck) Kelty, Angela Luckett and Amy (Ben) Hayden all of Lebanon, three grandchildren, Leslie Gammon, Tyler and Nick Galarza and two great grandchildren, Mila and Kailin Bell.

Mary requested cremation and there will be a public graveside service at 3:00 pm Thursday, April 11, 2024 at St. Dominic-Holy Rosary Cemetery with the inurnment of her cremains with her daughter and son.  Rev. David Farrell will officiate.
