Martin Howard Abell was born November 5, 1937 and returned to his heavenly father on January 4, 2025 at the age of 87. Martin was the son of James Clifton Abell and Mary Alma (Ryan) Abell.
He was a Washington County native who graduated from Fredericktown High School and served his country as a member of the U.S. Army from 1957-1960. Martin worked for General Electric in Louisville, KY for 33 years and upon retirement enjoyed time on his farm where he was born, raised, and lived his entire life. He also enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews and was a devoted member of St. Rose Parish.
Martin was proceeded in death by his brothers James Clifton Abell Jr. (Josephine) on September 13, 2006 and Charles “Dickie” Abell on July 28, 1990. He is survived by his sister-in-law Kathleen Abell along with 12 nieces and nephews.
Funeral mass for Martin Howard Abell will be conducted at 10:00 am Saturday, January 11, 2025 at St. Rose Catholic Church with Rev. Pier Giorgio Dengler, O.P. officiating. Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Davis Donnelly, Nathan Curtsinger, Collin Abell, Isaac Abell, Luke Abell and Camden Abell.
A prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm Friday, January 10 at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home where friends may call from 4:30 pm till 8:00 pm on Friday and again from 7:00 am till 9:30 am Saturday morning.
