Laetitia Rose Mudd Smith age 89 of Springfield, died at 6:08 pm Tuesday March 4, 2025 at Village of Lebanon.
Born March 13, 1935 in Washington County, she was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Leo and Bernadette Taylor Mudd, her husband, Francis Maurice Smith, February 6, 2019, a son, Francis Aloysius Smith, October 7, 2000, two brothers, Leroy "Buddy" Mudd and Randy Mudd and four sisters, Sr. Mary Angela Mudd, SCN, Dot Boone, Norma and Mary Mudd and a son-in-law, Nicky Hamilton.
She was a homemaker, was an employee of several local restaurants and was a member of St. Dominic and Holy Trinity Catholic Churches.
She is survived by a son, Butch (Debbie) Smith of Louisa, KY, five daughters, Sherry Hamilton, Angela (Thomas) Haydon and Susan (Philip) Haydon all of Springfield, Lou Ann (Mike) Smith of Louisville and Kaye Smith of Huntington, West Virginia, two sisters, Margaret Edelen of Fredericktown and Rose Marie (Joe Pat) Taylor of Bardstown, two sisters-in-law Carolyn Warlop of Indianapolis, Indiana and Ann Mudd of Fredericktown, 2 brothers-in-law Don Smith of Springfield and Joe Mudd of Fredericktown, 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and a special friend, Margaret Trigg of Springfield.
Funeral mass for Laetitia Rose Mudd Smith will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fredericktown with Rev. Augustine Judd, O.P. officiating. Burial will be in St. Dominic-Holy Rosary Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Todd Hamilton, Justin, Alex, Adam and Duke Smith, Marshall and Landon Browell, Luke Johnson and Tink Haydon.
A prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm Friday at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home where friends may call from 4:00 till 8:00 pm Friday and again from 7:00 am till 10:15 am Saturday morning.
Contributions are suggested to St. Dominic Church or School.
