Kimberly Dawn Liggett, age 62, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, at home after a 13-year battle with cancer, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and light.
Kim is preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Ann Liggett.
Kim graduated from Marion County High School and went on to receive her bachelor’s degree at Eastern Kentucky University. She chose to work in the Federal Prison System for her entire career, which brought her so much joy. There have been times that individuals she got to work with have reached out to share how good she made them feel during a challenging time in their lives. That was one of Kim’s gifts to all who knew her.
Kim was truly one of a kind, loving, and unforgettable. She never met a stranger and had a gift for making everyone feel seen and valued. Her powerful presence lifted people up wherever she went, and her profound sense of humor brought joy to countless hearts.
An avid fan of Ashley McBryde, Kim found music to be a source of connection and celebration. She loved being on the water at Herrington Lake, where she felt most at peace and closest to nature’s beauty.
Kim’s life was a testament to kindness and strength. She reminded us to embrace life fully, love deeply, and laugh often. Everyone who knew her loved her—and that love will continue to ripple through the lives she touched.
She is survived by her sisters Cathe Liggett and Marianne Mann (Dale); nieces Kayla Mann and Carlee-Anne Liggett; nephews Alex Mann and Jackson Liggett; and great-nieces and nephew Easton Cruz, Kinsley Cruz, and Millie-Jo Leake, all of whom will forever cherish her memory and carry her spirit forward.
Her special babies Ducky and Hailey survive her as well and showed great love for Kim and protection from anyone who walked in the front door or tried to hug Kim.
Though we grieve, we rejoice in knowing Kim is now embraced by eternal light and peace. Her laughter echoes in our hearts, and her love will never fade.

A Prayer for Kim:
Lord, we thank You for the gift of Kim’s life—the joy she brought, the love she shared, and the laughter that brightened our days. May her soul rest in Your eternal peace, and may we honor her by living with the same grace and joy she gave so freely. Amen.
Let us celebrate Kim’s life with music, laughter, and love—just as she would want.
