Karen Marie Delaney Shehan age 81, of Hopkinsville, passed away on Friday June 5, 2026 at Chautauqua Health & Rehab in Owensboro.
Born April 29, 1945 in Columbus, Ohio, she was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Vinton and Dorothy Christ Delaney, her husband, Thomas Garland Shehan Jr. on December 7, 2022, a son, John Walter Shehan on December 5, 2022 and a granddaughter, Aly Beard.
She received her associate degree in nursing from Hopkinsville Community College; was a registered nurse having worked as a Newborn Care Specialist for 30 years and was a catholic.
She is survived by four sons, Thomas Garland (Dawnelle) Shehan III of DeQueen, Arkansas, Kenny (Donna) Shehan of Springfield, Stephen (Ken Cheri) Shehan of Huntington, West Virginia and Tyler (Marna) Shehan of Hopkinsville, four sisters, Kathy Delaney of Wauseon, Ohio, Kimberly Minder of Port Orchard, Washington, Kelly Mulina of Port Orange, Florida and Karla (Dennis) Stivers of Bumpkin, Illinois, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren also survive.
A private family burial will take place at Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Springfield.
