Joyce Ann (Hamilton) Smith

Joyce Ann Hamilton Smith age 81 of Mt. Washington, formerly of Washington County, died at 12:20 pm Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Baptist Health Louisville.

Born March 12, 1943 in Louisville, she was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Allen and Anna Lavenia Vize Hamilton, a sister, Naomi Hamilton and two brothers, Steve and Leroy Hamilton.

She was a Bookkeeper for Southern States in Springfield for 33 years, was a homemaker and a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Mt. Washington.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Smith Jr., three sons, David (Leslie) Smith of Louisville, Darell (Cheri) Smith of Versailles and Dale (Jackie) Smith of Bardstown, six brothers, Kenny (Lucy) Hamilton, Gerald (Charlotte) Hamilton and Paul (Mary) Hamilton all of Springfield, Fred (Ruth) Hamilton of Bardstown, Leon (Arlene) Hamilton of Lebanon and Glenn Hamilton of Loretto, six sisters, Helen Mattingly of Lexington, Jean Fields and Jackie (Gery) Fenwick of Springfield, Pat Lee Osborne and Sheila Brady of Bardstown and Cathy (Al) Nally of Loretto, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral mass for Joyce Ann Hamilton Smith will be conducted at 10:00 am Thursday, May 9, 2024 at St. Rose Catholic Church with Rev. Dale Cieslik and Rev. Pier Giorgio Dengler, O.P. officiating.  Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Michael, Matthew, Christopher and Jacob Smith, Tony Hamilton, Bobby and Mark Fields, Jonathan Raikes and Doug Osborne. Honorary pallbearers will be Lindsay, Hannah and Jadyn Smith and Kelbie Head.

A prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm Wednesday, May 8 at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home with Rev. Pier Georgio Dengler, O.P. officiating.  Friends may call from 4:00 till 8:00 pm Wednesday and again from 7:00 am till 9:30 am Thursday morning.
