Joseph Lee Spalding age 69 of Old Louisville Rd., Cox's Creek, formerly of Washington County, died at 1:18 pm Saturday, December 12, 2020 at U of L Health Jewish Campus in Louisville.
Born November 1, 1951 in Lebanon, he was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Earl Spalding, February 26, 1999 and Mary Generose Caldwell Spalding, October 10, 2020.
He was a 1969 graduate of Washington County High School, was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, was a fork lift operator at Ford Motor Company Fern Valley Rd. for 30 years and was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Fairfield.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Patty Leake Spalding, three sons, Trent (Amy Smith) Spalding, Jerod (Emily) Spalding and Cory (Elizabeth) Spalding all of Bardstown, three brothers, David (Marilyn) Spalding, Freddie (Mary Beth) Spalding and Austin Spaldling all of Springfield, six sisters, Karen Hamilton, Lisa (Lynn) Wimsatt, Michelle (Pat) Smith and Jennifer (Steve) Taylor all of Springfield, Mary Lou (Bobby Joe) Corbett of Holy Cross and Reedie (Larry) Haydon of Lebanon, nine grandchidren, Brooke, Taylor, Josh and Hope Smith, Carter, Luci, Bronson, Roman and Bane Spalding.
Funeral mass for Joseph Lee Spalding will be conducted at 11:00 am Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at St. Rose Catholic Church with Rev. Terry Bradshaw and Rev. Jack Caldwell officiating. Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Shane and Steven Leake, Ryan Gerage, Ryan and David Spalding and Phillip Hamilton.
A prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home where friends may call from 4:00 till 8:00 pm Tuesday and again from 7:00 am till 10:15 am Wednesday morning.
Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic the funeral home and church will be limited to 50 % capacity and face masks and social distancing will be required. No food is allowed at funeral home.
