Joseph Ashley Carrico

Joseph Ashley Carrico of Lexington, KY departed this world on April 2, 2024.  Born to Perry and Anna Leachman Carrico on 11/14/1976 along with his twin brother.  He was a rambunctious child and spent his youth playing sports and running around with all his neighbors and classmates in his hometown of Springfield.  He graduated in 1995 from Bethlehem High School and after joined the Army where he served his country from 1996-1999 with a tour of duty in Kuwait.  He was very proud of his military service.  

In 2006, he received a Bachelors of Arts degree from Midway College.  Ashley had a contagious laugh and when he loved, he loved with his whole heart.  He enjoyed trying new food (especially anything spicy) & cooking; golf outings with his brothers and cherished watching his children play soccer.  He was a proud father to 3 amazing children.  

Ashley was charismatic, understanding & had great taste in movies & music.  He often wandered around the house singing his favorite rock song or church hymn.  He formed long, lasting friendships with many who crossed his path in life.  

He was preceded in death by his father, Perry on June 27, 2022.  His is survived by his children Will Carrico of Versailles; Lela Carrico of Lexington and Beckham Carrico of Lawrenceburg; His mother Anna Carrico; 4 brothers Tom Carrico (Karen) of Thompson’s Station, TN; Kevin Carrico of Cambridge, England: Jimbo Carrico (Fran) of Springfield, Ky and his twin Andrew Carrico (LeAnn) of Louisville, KY.  In addition, 3 nephews & 6 nieces along with his extended Leachman and Carrico families and special friend Peggy Bunch.  

Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral home in Springfield is in charge of arrangements.  Visitation will be on Monday, April 8th 4:00-8:00 PM and a prayer service at 7:00 PM.  A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Dominic Church at 10:00 AM Tuesday. The funeral mass will be officiated by Rev. David Farrell and Rev. Culpepper Elliott.  Burial will be in the Lebanon National Cemetery at 1:30 PM Tuesday with military honors conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.   Pallbearers will be Billy Leachman, Spencer Carrico, Bobby Clements, Joe Clements, Jason Filiatreau, and Stewart Rust.  Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Dominic Church, 303 West Main Street, Springfield, KY 40069.
