John McClain "Johnie" Osborne age 88, formerly of St. Rose-Lebanon Rd., Springfield, died at 1:39 pm Monday, May 22, 2023 at Village of Lebanon where he had resided for the last 3 years.
Born July 11, 1934 in Washington County, he was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Edward and Mary Ora Mattingly Osborne, his wife, Mary Helen Abell Osborne, August 15, 2020, a son, John Osborne, a daughter, Mary Osborne, a granddaughter, Stephanie Osborne, 3 brothers, Walter "Poodle" Osbourn, Kendrick and Tom Osborne, 4 sisters, Martha Medley, Willa Catherine Thomas, Doretha Simpson and Minnie Lee Osborne.
He had worked in the shipping department at Heaven Hill Distillery for 32 years, was a farmer and a member of St. Rose Catholic Church.
He is survived by 2 sons, Eddie (Linda) Osborne of Bardstown and John "Hooker" (Dana) Osborne of Springfield, a daughter, Wanda (Billy Carl) Foster of Springfield, 4 grandchildren, Stacey Hall, Krystal Mattingly, Daniel Osborne and Kirby Osborne Berens, 5 great grandchildren, McClain and Avery Osborne, Zeek Mattingly and Nash and Knox Berens.
Funeral mass for John McClain "Johnie" Osborne will be conducted at 10:00 am Thursday, May 25, 2023 at St. Rose Catholic Church with Rev. Kevin McGrath, O.P. officiating. Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Daniel and McClain Osborne, Jerry Osbourne, Scrammy Hamilton, Mike Mattingly, Bruce Fenwick and Kevin Medley.
A prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm Wednesday at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home where friends may call from 4:00 till 8:00 pm Wednesday and again from 7:00 am till 9:30 am Thursday morning.
