John Warren Kelty age 92, formerly of Springfield, died at 3:53 am Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Hallmark House in Prospect where he had resided for the last few years.
Born November 7, 1929 in Washington County, he was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Mary Naomi Graves Kelty, three brothers, Herman, Herbert and Charles Kelty and a sister, Mary Thomas.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict, was a retired assemblyman at General Electric Co., where he had worked for 35 years and was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church.
He is survived by two sisters, Virgie Mattingly of Lebanon and Martha Selby of Danville and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral mass for John Warren Kelty will be conducted at 11:00 am Monday, December 20, 2021 with Rev. David Farrell officiating. Burial will be in St. Dominic-Holy Rosary Cemetery with military honors by Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Mike, Dan, Rommie, Stephen, Tony, Bill and Myron Mattingly.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am till time of service Monday morning at St. Dominic Catholic Church.
It is requested that face masks be worn at the church.
