John Robert "Johnny" Boone

John Robert "Johnny" Boone age 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 14, 2024 at Village of Lebanon.  He was born September 22, 1943 to the late Jean Hayes Walker Boone and Joseph Lee Boone.  Also preceding in death was his son, Jeffrey Lee Boone in 2001 and a brother, Joseph Walker Boone in 1974.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marilyn Fenwick Boone, a sister Julie Griffey (Larry), a daughter, Robbie Cox (Randall), sons, John Robert Boone Jr., Gene and Jesse Boone.  Grandchildren, John Pat and Joe Lee (Kim) Mattingly, Victoria, Callie, Lily, Mason and Reno Boone.  Great Grandchildren, Will and Abby Mattingly.

He was a lifelong farmer and an advocate for all natural and medicinal uses of marijuana.  He was a man with many friends and he was a loyal friend to many.

His funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at River of Life Community Church, 1250 Highway 555, Springfield.  Services will be officiated by Rev. Troy Shelton.  A private burial will be in St. Dominic-Holy Rosary Cemetery with his son Jeff.

Pallbearers will be Mason, Jesse and Reno Boone, John Pat, Joe Lee and Will Mattingly.

Visitation will be from 4:00 till 7:00 pm Monday, June 17 and again from 8:00 am till time of services Tuesday morning at River of Life Community Church.

Contributions are suggested to River of Life Community Church or Hosparus of Green River.
