Jerry Taylor

Joseph Jerome "Jerry" Taylor age 76, of Fredericktown, died at 1:45 pm Sunday, December 18, 2022 at his residence.

Born October 23, 1946 in Washington County, he was preceded in death by his parents, William Edwin and Mary Frances Carrico Taylor, two sons, Joey Taylor, September 14, 2019 and Tommy Taylor, April 29, 2016, three brothers, Larry, Dickie and Louis Taylor and a sister, Elaine Taylor.

He served in the U.S. Army Reserves with the 729th Engineers in Bardstown during the Vietnam War, was Owner and Operator of Taylor Firestone in Bardstown for 15 years and Taylor Tire in Springfield for 28 years and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Medley Taylor of Fredericktown, a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Taylor of Fredericktown, one brother, Johnie (Cathy) Taylor of Springfield, three sisters, Sarah Ann (Jimmy) Medley, Imelda (David) Coulter and Libby (Ricky) Coulter all of Fredericktown, three grandchildren, Chelsie (Ian) Justice, Brad and Erin Taylor and one great grandson, Henry Justice.

At his request cremation was chosen.  A memorial mass will be conducted at 11:00 am Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fredericktown with Rev. Matthew Hardesty officiating.  Burial of his cremains will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery with military honors conducted by Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am till time of service at 11:00 am Thursday, December 29 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
