James Eric Spalding

James Eric Spalding age 62 of High St., Springfield, died at 5:00 am Saturday, January 11, 2025 at his residence.

Born January 20, 1962 in Lebanon, he was preceded in death by his father, Charles Richard Spalding, Dec. 10, 1997, his mother, Mary Hazel Wright Spalding, May 4, 2007, 4 sisters, Rebecca Spalding, Feb. 2, 2004, Elizabeth Ann Spaulding, April 10, 2020, Barbara Hodgens, Aug. 29, 2023 and Mary Cecilia Spalding, Oct. 16, 2024, a brother, David Anthony Spalding, Dec. 1, 2023.

He was a 1980 graduate of Washington County High School, was a foreman for Buzick Construction Co. in Bardstown for 22 years and was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Anita Smalley Spalding, three sons, Eric Deon Spalding, Ja'Vonta Desquan Spalding and James LaKyle Spalding all of Springfield, 4 brothers, Joe (Georgia) Spalding of Lebanon, Paul and Jeffrey (Cathy) Spalding of Springfield and Peter (Joyia) Spalding of Los Angeles, California, seven sisters, Margaret Spalding, Jane Spalding and Susan Spalding all of Louisville, Julia Spalding, Pam Grundy, Maureen Spalding and Maria Pasley all of Springfield, five grandchildren, Kayden, ZaKarian, Kingston, Arhea and Ameia Spalding.

Funeral mass for James Eric Spalding will be conducted at 12:00 pm noon on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Rev. Pier Giorgio Dengler, O.P. officiating.  Burial will be in St. Dominic-Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers are Donta Smalley, Mark Wheatley, Johnny Wheatley, Charles Smalley, and Billy Wakefield

Pallbearers will be Dyron Johnson, Mitchell Hughes, Maurice Edelen, Doug and Ritchie Spalding, Greg Hamilton, Joe McWhorter and Malcolm Grundy.

Visitation will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Church from 9:30 am till time of services at 12:00 noon on Friday,
