James Edward "Eddie" O'Daniel

James Edward "Eddie" O'Daniel age 70 of Springfield Rd., Bloomfield, died at 10:24 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2018 at U.K. Medical Center in Lexington as the result of injuries he sustained in an ATV accident on December 14.

Born November 26, 1948 in Lebanon, he was preceded in death by his father, James Russell O'Daniel, July 25, 2015, a son, Benjamin Farris O'Daniel, Sept. 19, 2016 and an infant brother, James Paul O'Daniel.

He was a graduate of St. Joe Prep in Bardstown, attended St. Catharine College and received his Bachelors degree from American University in Washington, D.C., was a U.S. Navy veteran having served on the U.S.S. Saratoga, was the owner and wine maker of Springhill Winery in Bloomfield, was an insurance agent for Commonwealth Life Insurance Company for many years, worked as a real estate agent and Edward Jones Investments.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Desilets O'Daniel, two sons, Paul (Amy) O'Daniel of Louisville and Eric (Brittnee) Duncan of Houston, Texas, two daughters, Katie (Sumner) MacDonald of Louisville and Diana (Cody) Langenstein of Taylorsville, three brothers, Freddie (Angela) O'Daniel of Springfield, Steve (Lois) O'Daniel of Nicholasville and Juny (Kathy) O'Daniel of Lexington, four sisters, Ginny (Fred) Osborne of Bardstown, Betty Maresca of Louisville, Donna O'Daniel Smith of Versailles and Debbie O'Daniel of Lexington, his mother Pauline Hamilton O'Daniel of Springfield, and 13 grandchildren also survive.

Funeral mass for James Edward "Eddie" O'Daniel will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2018 at St, Rose Catholic Church with Rev. John Johnson, pastor of St. Michael Catholic Church in Fairfield officiating.  Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery.  A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home who is in charge of arrangements and where friends may call from 3:00 till 8:00 p.m. Sunday and again from 7:00 a.m. till 10:15 a.m. on Monday.
