James Donnie O'Bryan age 82 of Covington Ave., Springfield, passed away at 8:05 am Friday, January 2, 2026 at Springfield Nursing & Rehab.
Born January 3, 1943 in Washington County, he was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Walter O'Bryan Jr. and Laura Faye Graves O'Bryan, his wife, Patricia Ann Smith O'Bryan, March 13, 2017, a daughter, Sandra O'Bryan, a granddaughter, Heather Brown, a brother, Thomas Jerry O'Bryan, a niece, Christy O'Bryan and a brother-in-law, Jimmy Walker.
He was a 3rd degree member of Council 4270 Knights of Columbus in Springfield, a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, a farmer and had worked at Springfield Redrying Co. for several years.
He is survived by a daughter Laura Ann Dean of Willisburg, two brothers, Joseph Larry (Christine) O'Bryan of Louisville and Eddie O'Bryan of Bardstown, a sister, Patsy Walker of Springfield, a sister-in-law, Rose Ann Medley O'Bryan of Louisville, three grandchildren, Austin and Luke Dean and Tommy Brown, four great-grandchildren, Jace, Abel, Ellie and Mayson Dean.
Funeral mass for James Donnie O'Bryan will be conducted at 10:00 am Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at St. Rose Catholic Church with Rev. Pier Giorgio Dengler, O.P. officiating. Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Rick Greenwell, Larry Hamilton, Larry Jones, Brian Mattingly, Joey Smith, Billy Abell and Austin and Luke Dean.
A prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm Tuesday, January 6 at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home where friends may call from 4:00 till 8:00 pm Tuesday and again from 7:00 am till 9:30 am Wednesday morning.
