James Walker "Jim" Grundy

James Walker "Jim" Grundy age 74 of Springfield, died at 2:45 pm Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Springfield Nursing & Rehab Center.

Born August 9, 1949 in Washington County, he was preceded in death by his mother, Agnes Jeanette Spalding, a son, James Walker "J.J." Grundy and two brothers, Bill Logan and Robert Burton.

He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Germany, was a retired engineer for Norfolk Southern Railroad and was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Pam Spalding Grundy, a son, Malcolm (Anna) Grundy of St. Louis, Missouri, three daughters, Sherry Walker of Virginia, Bridget Walker of Louisville and Dr. Gabrielle Grundy of Las Vegas, Nevada, three grandchildren, Emma and Nora Grundy and Christian Walker.

Funeral mass for James Walker "Jim" Grundy will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Rev. Pier Giorgio Dengler, O.P. officiating. Cremation will follow the service with inurnment at a later date at St. Dominic-Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Richard, Doug, Jason and Deon Spalding, Aaron, Brandon and Benjamin Spalding and Mitchell Hughes.

A prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm Friday at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home where friends may call from 4:00 till 8:00 pm Friday and again after 8:00 am Saturday morning.
