Jackie Tinnell age 88, of Old Cissellville Rd., Springfield, formerly of Bardstown, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at his residence.
Born April 20, 1937 in Bardstown, he was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Tinnell Sr. and Elizabeth Leona Dawson Tinnell, his wife Joyce Teresa Tinnell, August 8, 2019, a brother, James Tinnell, a sister, Joyce Young and a grandson, Richard Stovall.
He was a steel fabricator for Carrier Vibrating Equipment Co. in Louisville for 35 years and had been a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bardstown.
He loved spending time outdoors with his animals and in later years, push mowing his yard
He loved his family deeply and took care of them in a steady, dependable way. He was also always a big kid at heart, with a great sense of humor, and always able to make people smile.
He is survived by three sons, Mike (Rhonda) Fleming) Tinnell of Springfield, Sam (Peggie) Tinnell of Mt. Washington and Jackie (Dru) Tinnell of Bardstown, two daughters, Peggy (Jerry) Mattingly of Springfield and Lee (David) Griffith of Versailles, 2 brothers, Junebug Tinnell of Indiana and Richard (Dee) Tinnell of Cox's Creek, a sister Lois Taylor, eleven grandchildren, Stacey Mattingly, Travis (Megan) Mattingly, Jenna Tinnell (Joey Layne), Austin Tinnell, Ben (Nikki) Tinnell, Adam Tinnell, Damien Lyvers, Lakiyn (Brandon) Osborne, Jennifer Stoval (Chris Vincent), Kimberly Nemeth and Shawn Bruin, eight great grandchildren and a Special Caregiver, Sabrina Durbin.
Funeral services will be conducted at 6:30 pm Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home with Bobby Joe Mattingly officiating.
Cremation will follow services with inurnment in St. Dominic-Holy Rosary Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm till after the service at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home.
Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
