Gloria Ann Wharton age 85, of Springfield, passed away at 4:43 pm Friday, June 19, 2026 at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.
Born August 2, 1940 in Barberton, Ohio, she was preceded in death by her parents, William Henry Schleicher and Helen Toth Schleicher and her second husband, Raymond T. Fletcher.
She was a real estate agent with Joe Guy Hagan Century 21 Real Estate Company in Louisville and was a member of Springfield Presbyterian Church.
She is surived by two sons, Steven P. (Susan R.) Wharton and Kevin A. (Rachel) Wharton all of Springfied, a daughter, Pamela A. (John Warren) Straub of Charlestown, Indiana and three sisters, Patricia Heideman of Akron, Ohio, Deborah York of Stowe Ohio and Denise (Peter) Glassman of Chevy Chase, Maryland, 7 Grandchildren, Madeline P. (Ryan) Kelli S. (Garrett D.) Biggs, Alexandra G. (Lucas) Smith, Isabelle M. (Jacob) McMahan, John Parker Straub, Sarah Jo Rall and Kelsy Straub, 3 great grandchildren, Meredith Parker White, Jack Thomas White and Stetson D. Biggs
Cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Springfield Presbyterian Church with Rev. Clay Stevens officiating. Inurnment will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am till time of the service at Springfield Presbyterian Church.
