Dorothy Mae Wheatley Osborne of Mt. Washington, Kentucky, formerly of Springfield, Kentucky Died peacefully Friday March 3, 2023 at 8:25 am, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born February 16, 1942, Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents James Edward Wheatley and Dorothy Clements Wheatley, two sisters, Sara Ann Wheatley Abel Eakles, Mary Ellen Wheatley Osborne French, brothers Tomas Martin Wheatley, Frederick Michael Wheatley and Marion Allen Wheatley.
Our Mother, a devout Catholic, devoted her entire life to her husband Robert Martin and her children, Sandra, Robert, Jennifer and John. A selfless and understanding woman, she gave of herself to her family, her parish and those less fortunate. Mother was the family rock. She nurtured and cared deeply for her children like none other. She was goodness. She was light.
Dorothy’s lifelong passion was genealogy. She also spent many quality hours with her family on road trips across the United States and she loved playing board games especially Scrabble, when times were quiet.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert Martin Osborne, her daughters Sandra Lorraine Osborne Burke “John Paul”, Jennifer Katherine Osborne, her sons Robert Martin Osborne “Michelle”, and John Christopher Osborne “Guiying”. She is also is also survived by her grandchildren, Christopher Michael Underwood “Nichole”, Sean Matthew Osborne, Joseph Edward Osborne, James Andrew Osborne, Marissa Renee Osborne, Sarah Michelle Osborne, Jacob Alexander Osborne, and Jasmine Cecilia Osborne, great-grandchildren Christopher Alexander Underwood, Katrina Elizabeth Underwood and Bridget Marie Underwood.
Dorothy is also survived by her sisters: Laurita Wheatley, Susie Wheatley Yates, brothers: Benny, Frank, Herman, Richard, and Mark.
The funeral Mass will be held at St. Rose Priory in Springfield, Kentucky on Wednesday, March 8, at 10:00 am.
Visitation will be held at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 7, from 4:00 till 8:00 pm Tuesday and again from 7:00 am till 9:30 am Wednesday morning.
A prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Michael, Sean, Joseph, James, Christopher Alexander, Jacob, Robert and John Osborne.
