Don Nell (Burns) Edelen

Don Nell Burns Edelen age 89 of Springfield died at 9:35 pm Monday, March 6, 2023 at Springfield Nursing & Rehab.

Born December 9, 1933 in Washington County, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Polin "Sody" Edelen and her son, Fr. Dan Edelen.

She was a secretary for 23 years at Springview Hospital in Lebanon, KY.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Edelen of Georgetown, KY and Tony (Diane) Edelen of Versailles, KY, and one daughter, Cheryl (Mike) Mattingly of Springfield. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Mass for Don Nell Burns Edelen will be conducted at 10:00 am Friday, March 10, 2023 at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Rev. Pepper Elliott and Rev. David Farrell officiating. Burial will take place in the St. Dominic/Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 9, 2023 and again on Friday morning from 7:00 - 9:30 am.

Prayer Service will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home.

Honorary pallbearers will be Faith Duke, Joy Martin, Valerie Lawson, Kimberly Mackin, Emily Edelen and Olivia Edelen. Pallbearers will be Bart Mattingly, Tony Edelen, Jr., Stuart Edelen, Jeremy Mackin, Bill Edelen and Jeff Edelen.
