Cynthia (Hayden) Browning

Cynthia Hayden Browning age 97, formerly of Sam Browning Rd., Lebanon, passed away at 8:30 pm Friday, July 4, 2025 at Village of Lebanon.

Born August 13, 1927 in Marion County, she was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Frederick and Mary Alma Mattingly Hayden, her husband, James Samuel Browning Sr., January 4, 2019, a son, Gary Jude Browning, April 2, 2024, a grandson, Daniel Ross Robinson, November 10, 2022, a great grandson, Elijah Ross Robinson, June 1, 2020, a son-in-law, Bill Burke, Feb. 23, 2010, 2 brothers, Tommy and William F. Hayden and three sisters, Monica Hayden, Margaret Skees and Gertrude Browning.

Cynthia was housewife, had worked at St. Mary's College for 10 years, was a teacher's assistant for the Marion County Board of Education.  She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church where she served in the church choir, was a Eucharist Minister, a member of the Altar Society and the parish council.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Peggy Browning Burke and Annette (Lee) Robinson of Lebanon and T. Rita Browning, M.D. of Jacksonville, Florida, a son, James Samuel (Ellen Zuernderfor) Browning Jr. of Clearwater, Florida, a daughter-in-law, Christy Browning of Bowling Green, a sister, Charlotte Fenwick of Bardstown, 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral mass for Cynthia Hayden Browning will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday, July 11, 2025 at St. Charles Catholic Church in St. Mary with Very Rev. Scott Wimsett and Rev. Jim Graf officiating.  Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brandon, Karl and Clayton Robinson, David, Luke and Garret Browning and Jackson and Brady Benningfield.

A prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday, July 10 at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home where friends may call from 4:00 till 8:00 pm Thursday and again from 7:00 am till 10:00 am Friday morning.
