Charles Leon Young

Charles Leon Young age 90 of Springfield, died at 5:15 pm Saturday, October 8 at Landmark of Bardstown.

Born February 21, 1932 in Washington County, he was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Sally Montgomery Young, his wife, Fannie Logan Warner Young, October 28, 2020, a son James Martin Young, October 8, 2016, a sister, Laura Della Mays and four brothers, George Irvin, Howard Joe, John Matthew and Andrew David Young.

He was a farmer and had worked for Springfield Redrying Co. for 40 years.  He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

He is survived by six sons, William (Sharon) Young and Terry (Linda) Young all of Springfield, Joseph (Phyllis) Young of Georgetown, Frank Allen (Mary) Young and Thomas Wayne (Tonya) Young all of Bardstown and Brad Young of Hampton, Virginia, two daughters, Barbara Ann Young and Bridget Young Malone both of Louisville, two brothers, James (Naomi) Young of Louisville and Kenneth Young of Bardstown, four sisters, Nannie (Clarence) Gilbert and Louise Gilbert all of Taylorsville, Geneva (Steve) Ford of Danville and Mildred Keene of Bardstown, 29 grandchildren, 73 great grandchildren and 20 great great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral mass for Charles Leon Young will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Rev. Kevin McGrath, O.P. officiating.  Burial will be in St. Dominic-Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Denzel, Terry Jr., Quentin, Darrell, Todd, Demarcus and Christopher Young and Devin Churchill.

A prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm Friday, October 14 at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home where friends may call from 5:30 till 8:00 pm Friday and again from 7:00 am till 10:30 am Saturday morning.
