Charles Irvin "Charlie" Mattingly age 66 of Perryville Rd., Springfield, died at 6:25 am Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born Sept. 21, 1955 in Lebanon, he was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Albertus Mattingly Sr., June 20, 2011, his mother, Dorothy Marie Denardi, June 5, 2011, a sister, Linda Sue Mudd, Oct. 5, 1998, two brothers, Joe Mattingly Jr., Dec. 5, 1986 and James "Bo" Mattingly, August 27, 2020, a son-in-law, Adam Hughes, March 19, 2005, three brother-in-laws, Jerry Lynn Warner, July 22, 2020, Craig Edelen, Dec. 7, 1993 and Terry Harmon, June 12, 2020.
He was a 1973 graduate of Washington County High School, a self-employed plumber and a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Harmon Mattingly, two daughters, Sara Hughes of Springfield and Ashley (Corey) O'Daniel of Lebanon, a brother, Jerry (Peggy) Mattingly of Springfield, four sisters, Patsy (David) Smith, Jeannie Warner, Shirley (Billy Ray) Taylor and Sharon Edelen all of Springfield, a sister-in-law Donna Mattingly of Springfield, and five grandchildren, Peyton and Ashton Hughes, Ethan Kelly and Rori and Charlie O'Daniel.
Funeral mass for Charles Irvin "Charlie" Mattingly will be conducted at 10:00 am Monday, July 4, 2022 at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Rev. David Farrell and Rev. Joe Hayden officiating. Burial will be in St. Dominic-Holy Rosary Cemetery.
A prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm Sunday at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home where friends may call from 4:00 till 8:00 pm Sunday and again from 7:00 am till 9:15 am Monday morning.
