Cecil Purdom Smalley age 75 of Ahlena Way, Springfield, died at 10:53 am Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.
Born October 11, 1945 in Washington County, he was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mattie Josie Spalding Smalley, a brother, William Louis Smalley and a sister, Virginia Ann Smalley.
He was a press operator at General Electric Appliance Park Building 4 for 30 years, was a 3rd degree member of Council 4270 Knights of Columbus in Springfield and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife Frances Hurrigan Smalley, two daughters, Julia (Tony) Batts and Carla (J.T.) Burton all of Springfield, two brothers, Joseph (Marquitta) Smalley and Thomas Eugene (Ella) Smalley all of Springfield, three sisters, Mary Jeanette McWhorter, Ida Helen Smalley and Ruby (Leroy) Thompson all of Springfield, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral mass for Cecil Purdom Smalley will be conducted at 1:00 pm Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Rev. Kevin McGrath, O.P. officiating. Burial will be in St. Dominic-Holy Rosary Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Nathaniel Keene, Thomas, Joe and Roderick Smalley, Darnell Crowe and Auquintis Litsey.
Honorary pallbearers will be Darnell Young, Gregory Lee Yocum and James Gerton.
Visititation will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Church from 10:00 am till time of service at 1:00 pm on Tuesday.
