William Edward "Bill" Ballard age 70, of Loretto Rd., Springfield, passed away unexpectedly on August 12 ,2022 from unkown causes after being found at his place of solitude, St. Rose Catholic Church. He was born on March 25, 1952 to the late James Leo and Lelia Margaret (Bean) Ballard and was also preceded in death by a brother, Joe Joe Ballard.
He was the brother of Tippy (Tom) Taylor of Bardstown, Margaret (Donnie) Polin of Elizabethtown, Susan "Bean" (Jerry) Osbourne of Springfield, Lee (Sam) Wheatley of Bardstown, Brenda (Mack) Hiter of Springfield, Jimmy (Sue) Ballard of Elizabethtown and Dick (Denise) Ballard of Cincinnati, Ohio.
He was a 1970 graduate of Washington County High School and attended St. Catharine College. Bill was a faithful employee for 33 years at All-Weather Insulation until his retirement.
He was a kind, devoted, loving partner to his spouse, Dorothy (Willett) Ballard for 49 years. As well as being a loving spouse, he was an amazing father to his children, Jessica Taylor (Ryan) of Knoxville, Tennessee, William Ballard (Anupa) of Louisville, Sally Stacey (Kevin) of Ft. Thomas, KY and Michael Ballard (Tiffani) of Springfield. He was also an incredible grandfather to his grandchildren, Chandler, Connor, Ryan, Rea Dorothy, Ann Charlotte, Arya, Clark, Jack, Lucas and Asher.
Bill will be remembered for his devotion to church and prayer. He will also be remembered for always having a smile on his face and his sense of humor. Bill enjoyed all things UK Football and Basketball and his beloved New England Patriots. Bill was a dedicated volunteer at St. Rose religious eduation and was a consistent blood donor. Bill will forever be missed by his family and friends.
Funeral mass for William Edward "Bill" Ballard will be conducted at 12 noon Monday, August 15, 2022 at St. Rose Catholic Church with Rev. Edmund Ditton, O.P. officiating. Cremation will follow the services with burial of his cremains in St. Rose Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his four children and two son-in-laws.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am till time of funeral mass on Monday at St. Rose Catholic Church.
