Barbara Timothea (Spalding) Hodgens

Barbara Timothea Spalding Hodgens age 67 of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Springfield, died at 11:32 am Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at Community East Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Born April 7, 1956 in Lebanon, she was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Richard and Mary Hazel Wright Spalding, two sisters, Elizabeth Ann and Florence Rebecca Spalding and two nephews, Philip Spalding and J.J. Grundy.

She was a 1974 graduate of Washington County High School, was a teacher's aide and an accountant for the Genesis School in Indianapolis and was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church in Indianapolis.

She is survived by eight sisters, Mary C. Spalding, Julia Spalding, Pamela (James) Grundy, Maureen Spalding and Maria (Bruce) Pasley all of Springfield, Margaret Spalding, Jane Spalding and Susan Spalding all of Louisville, six brothers, Joe (Georgia) Spalding of Lebanon, David Spalding of Louisville, Paul Spalding, Jeffrey (Cathy) Spalding and Eric (Anita) Spalding all of Springfield and Peter (Joyia) Spalding of Los Angeles, California, many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral mass for Barbara Timothea Spalding Hodgens will be conducted at 11:00 am Monday, September 4, 2023 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Rev. Kevin McGrath, O.P. officiating.  Cremation will take place after the services with inurnment in St. Dominic-Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:30 am till time of services at 11:00 am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
