Audrey Dean Hays Edelen age 97, formerly of Locust St., Springfield, died at 9:50 am Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Sansbury Care Center at St. Catharine where she had resided for the last four years.
Born February 5, 1925 in Norwood, Ohio, she was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Rena Etta Boswell and Jimmy Holderman, her husband, James Richard Edelen, September 25, 1973, a son, Rev. Richard Edelen, a daughter, Susan Jaeschke, three grandchildren, Richard Miles, Brenda Tripoli and Carl Jaeschke, a great grandchild, Mia Burke, a son-in-law, Joe Buckler, a daughter-in-law, Tanna Edelen and a brother, Kelly Holderman.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church.
She is survived by 2 sons, Jeffrey Edelen of Lawrenceburg and Bill (Patrice) Edelen of Bardstown, 5 daughters, Linda (Jack) Burns of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Cathy Edelen and Barbara (John) Pettus all of Springfield, Nancy (Bill) Blacketer of Bowling Green and Margaret (Bob) Smith of Lebanon, 22 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Funeral mass for Audrey Dean Hays Edelen will be conducted at 10:00 am Friday, April 22, 2022 at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Rev. David Farrell and Rev. Culpepper Elliott officiating. Burial will be in St. Dominic-Holy Rosary Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Greg Buckler, Isaac and John Edelen, Charles Miles, Henry Smith, Thomas Pettus, Brian Buckler, Michael Edelen and Robert Pettus.
Visitation will be from 4:00 till 7:00 pm Thursday April 21 and again from 7:00 am till 9:15 am Friday morning at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held at 6:00 pm Thursday.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Dominic School.
